have a section of your own design made, be advised that a minimum order
is required dependant on the duplicity and size of the section
Customers
are asked to give the following information when requesting quotations
for special sections:
Drawings
showing dimensions with plus and minus tolerances mentioned wherever
these are critical.
Angles to be
clearly marked. State if the section is
decorative or functional (state which surfaces are those that can be
seen and therefore require the best finish).
State
whether the material is required in a grade giving high gloss finish,
medium or matt finish.
State colour
required, if possible sending a sample for matching purposes or a BS/RAL
number
Indicate if it is to be subjected
to extremes of temperature, exposed to corrosive vapours, in contact
with chemicals, etc. .
If
known, signify the grade of material needed, a Shore Hardness or BS
Softness number.
Details
of the ultimate use often assists us to select a suitable grade and
sometimes enables us to suggest an alternative or improved section.
Samples of a required section are of great
help, and a minimum length of one foot is ideal as we sometimes cost by
weight.
Once your drawing has been received the physical making of the tool can take from 4-10 weeks, dependant on its nature. When the tool is complete a sample run is made for you to approve, the main run will usually take place 2 weeks after the samples are approved.
